As some of you may already know, I would like to have your help in assembling the bouquet. I got the idea from here, which discusses the plan in some more detail.
Essentially, I hope every guest will bring a personal, bouquetable item to put in my bouquet as I walk down the aisle. Matt and I are not really fans of cut flowers; while we both find them beautiful, I find them a waste and Matt is all too aware of their dying, ephemeral nature. Instead, we wish that you will contribute something that is funny, sweet, or represents you to us; this could be a fake flower, a feather, a finger puppet on a stick, candy, or an origami bloom.. Anything. There are some nice ideas here.
As my father and I walk down the aisle, we will collect the "flowers" to be assembled and bound tight at the "altar", forming a perfectly unique, perfectly lovely, perfectly us bouquet, all with your help and generosity.
There is no reason to go overboard on this gift. A paper cut out with crudely drawn stick figures is as appropriate as a delicate and rare orchid, and to be honest, I would prefer the former. And don't worry if you don't know what to pick, or forget to bring something; there will be a selection of extras (an unused selection from the making of the bridesmaid bouquets) for just such an occasion.
