Travel To The UK

Though our wedding will be taking place in Hull, the majority of the activities beforehand will take place in or around York, where Matt and I first met. We will be renting out a block of houses in Heslington, right next to the University of York, where houses can be shared other guests for extremely cheap--if there is any cost to you. The Thursday before the wedding will be my bachelorette party, and will be taking place in York. It will be Kanye West themed. In Hull, we will be reserving a block of rooms for reduced rate within walking distance of the Deep, for the nights before, of, and after the wedding. (More information on accommodations can be found here.)

So how do you get to England? Which airport? The answer is easy; go to whatever airport is cheapest, and Matt and I will try our best to pick you up or help you find quick and easy transport. East Midlands Airport is closest to Nottingham, where Matt and I will be living. Humberside is the closest to Hull, London is likely the cheapest, and Manchester has been providing some good deals and is not too far from anything. Leeds and Manchester both are VERY close to York. Manchester is the closest for York travel. If you find another airport to use and need us to give you a ride or help you find a lift, let us know.

Some people have been finding good deals through AAA's website. You can also always buy tickets cheaper directly from the airline's website, so if you find a good deal on Orbitz or the like, check on the airline's main page before you purchase. Beware of added taxes. The ticket's cost is the most prohibitive thing for my friends and family in America, and I understand if you can't come to the wedding.

For UK travel, trains run throughout the country, as do buses, and Americans can rent cars if they wish. For trips to Hull from York (and to or from the airports), we'll rent vans or buses to bring you, if anyone needs a ride. We understand the cost of visiting, so we'll make everything as cheap and as easy as possible.
